Welcome to Call Carl. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Call Carl iOS app and any associated services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
The short version: Call Carl is an app that helps you track and manage home maintenance. Carl's guidance is informational — it's not professional advice. You're responsible for your home maintenance decisions. You can delete your account at any time and we'll purge your data within 30 days.
By downloading, installing, or using the Call Carl app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Please notify us at hello@call-carl.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree to provide accurate information when setting up your home and to update it when things change (e.g., you replace a system, move to a new home). Carl's recommendations are only as good as the information you provide.
You own the information you enter into Call Carl — your home details, asset records, photos, and chat history. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store and process it for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your data.
You agree not to upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share.

You can delete your account from within the app at any time. When you do, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data we retain and why.
We'll do our best to keep the app running reliably, but we can't guarantee it will always be available. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. For significant changes, we'll notify you via the app or email.
Call Carl is free to download and use at launch. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll give you clear notice before any charges apply, and you'll have the opportunity to opt out.
The Call Carl app, the Carl character, and all associated content and design are owned by Call Carl and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute them without our written permission.
Call Carl is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the app or Carl's responses. We do not guarantee that maintenance guidance will prevent damage, extend appliance life, or save you money.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Call Carl and its owners, employees, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including property damage, personal injury, or reliance on Carl's responses.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
If you have a dispute with us, please email hello@call-carl.com first. Most issues can be resolved quickly without formal proceedings.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be settled through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class actions.
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we do, we'll update the date above and notify you via the app or email for material changes. Continuing to use the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
